He has a fine Tenor voice and performed professionally as a soloist
in the Edinburgh Festival for a number of years and also in the Festival
Hall, London. With his One Man Show, John McCormack, Man and Legend, he
toured Ireland. He has conducted choirs professionally as far away as
the Seychelles and the Caribbean. His first string quartet was played at
the festival in 1997, his song cycle "Five Scots Sangs" was sung at the festival in 2001 by Suzanne Lommler. He has had many pieces performed on Radio 3 and won a prize at the Stroud International festival for his Clarinet quintet.

Richard took early
retirement from business, enabling him to take up an early hobby again
as a composer. He studied composition under John Maxwell Geddes at the Royal
Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and studied Orchestration and harmony with Aberdeen University, long distance learning project. He has had pieces performed in
America and in 1999 his first piano impromptu was arranged for
Clarinet, Contrabass, Horn and Bassoon, by Patrick and performed to an
appreciative audience.

and Secretary - George Dodgshon
A retired Banker, George
keeps our accounts in order, and more. He has an excellent Tenor voice
and many years of experience in Operatic productions on Merseyside. He
is a pianist and has accompanied the choir during rehearsals, as well
as performing both as a soloist and member of the choir on many
occasions.

Secretary - Frances Carroll
Frances obtained a
scholarship to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music where she
graduated. She subsequently taught music in Edinburgh, when she also
sang with the Scottish Opera. Now retired she teaches occasionally at
the Lochaber Music School in Fort William where she has joined the
staff.
